Four Seasons "Taste of Place"


If you would like to take an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the local food scene, Four Seasons has launched the “Taste of Place” where you can discover a curated collection of immersive culinary and beverage experiences at their participating hotels and resorts. Guests and local gourmands can step “behind-the-scenes,” and take a look at diverse local culinary practices and traditions. You can walk, talk, shop and cook with local food vendors, farmers, butchers, distillers and mixologists. As part of your exclusive experience you get to also visit regional breweries and vineyards or if fishing is your thing, you could try your hand at deep sea fishing. If you would like to learn to mix a drink or two, there’s also farm-to-bar mixology classes for you. Not just that, several itineraries will be in unique settings with remarkable landscape views.

Here are a number of experiences that are hand-picked by Luxury Launches team:

High Altitude Dining – From Glacial Peak Aperitifs to a Panoramic Mountain View (Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler): You will be whisked away via helicopter to the Pemberton Icecap, where you can gather pure glacier ice to use in a cocktail mixology class. The Resort’s lead mixologist will create signature specialties that you can down while taking in the beauty of Whistler’s mountain peaks. Once back at the resort, have a memorable dinner boasting locally sourced ingredients and premium cuts complemented by sweeping panoramic views.

The CoCoRum Experience (Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Thailand): Learn the basics of rum making and study the finer points of rum cocktails through a private mixology class at the Resort’s CoCoRum Restaurant & Bar, which has the largest rum collection in Thailand. You can also taste four rare artisanal rums from Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Venezuela and Barbados, each blended with fresh tropical fruits, followed by a private tour of the unique Samui Rum Distillery, the only accredited distillery in Thailand. The plus – you will receive a bottle of CoCoRum’s Signature Aged Rum Negroni to take away, exclusively bottled by Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui.

Gastronomic Tour in Parma (Four Seasons Hotel Milano): Love cheese? Here’s where you can learn how parmesan cheese is made. You will be escorted from the Hotel to Iris farm where you will get to see up close how parmesan cheese is made, followed by a tasting. Next up is a tour of Leporati Prosciutti Langhirano, one of the top artisanal ham producers in the region, where you will learn the various stages of how Parma Leporati ham is made. Finally, end your day at Masticabrodo, a local restaurant and tavern where you will get the opportunity to enjoy traditional cuisine from the Emilia-Romagna region, featuring special meats and regional wines.
